From CAD model to assessable 3D interactive courseware in as little as one day. Built-in AI assistant generates annotations and course content. Supports FBX, GLB or STEP import.
Explore FeaturesManage the model tree on the left, inspect assembly relationships in the viewport, and edit annotations and steps on the right — all around one real disassembly task.

Each course is built from tasks, steps, checkpoints and assessments. Learners follow the sequence on desktop or in a browser while instructors review every action.
From aviation maintenance to vocational education, MechLab is deployed across demanding industrial training environments.
MechLab doesn't replace any existing tool — it fills the gap between them, letting engineers author interactive training courses themselves without outsourcing or developers.

Professional 3D training content authoring tool for maintenance instructors and technical writers.
Import FBX, GLB or STEP files from industrial CAD tools. Materials, hierarchy and part names are automatically recognized. STEP files are parsed by the built-in OCCT engine, preserving native CAD part hierarchy and color data.
No animation curves needed. Define motion type, axis and speed through a parameter panel and preview in real time.
A timeline interface similar to video editing software, supporting synchronized multi-track editing for transforms, visibility, camera, particles and opacity.
Define disassembly steps and trigger conditions with a visual node graph. Supports branching flows and conditional jumps.
Add hotspot popups, dimension annotations, BOM part numbers and scene notes directly in the 3D scene.
Built-in particle system, flow arrows and surface flow effects. Supports cable and cloth flexible body simulation.
Generate exploded views to show part relationships, clip planes to reveal internal structures, and transparency with hazard zone highlighting.
The built-in AI assistant reads scene nodes and step sequences to auto-generate text annotations, hotspot cards and course content blocks. Supports OpenAI, local Ollama and domestic LLMs such as Alibaba Cloud Bailian — fully usable in air-gapped environments. All write operations require confirmation and can be undone.

Import FBX, GLB or STEP files directly, with materials and part hierarchy parsed automatically.
Lightweight standalone player for learners to view and interact with training courses. Deployable on desktop and web.
Load course packages exported from MechLab and fully restore all animations, effects and step sequences. No additional plugins required.
Learners click 3D parts to trigger corresponding steps, view hotspot popups and dimension info in an immersive environment.
MechLab authors, MechPlayer delivers — a complete interactive 3D loop for mechanical training.
No. MechLab imports FBX, GLB or STEP files already exported by CAD engineers. Maintenance instructors only need to configure motion, steps and annotations on the existing model — no modeling required.
No. Both MechLab and MechPlayer are fully offline local applications. All models, courses and learner data are stored locally with no dependency on external servers, meeting the confidentiality requirements of industrial environments.
FBX, GLB/GLTF and STEP are supported. FBX and GLB are standard export formats available in all major CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo, etc.). STEP is parsed directly by the built-in OCCT engine, preserving native part hierarchy and colors.
MechPlayer is licensed separately from MechLab, with flexible pricing by number of learners or deployment nodes. Contact us for a quote.
MechLab currently supports Windows 7/10/11 and Kylin OS V10 ARM64, with on-premises delivery options for the China market. Contact us to confirm hardware, driver and environment requirements.
SolidWorks Composer focuses on generating static technical illustrations and linear step documents with no interactive assessment capability. MechLab's key differentiators are: a step state machine with branching and conditional jumps, scoring and assessment nodes, tool selection validation, and click-part verification — all specific to training scenarios that Composer does not support.
There is no hard limit, but we recommend keeping individual FBX/GLB files under 500 MB for a smooth editing experience. For very large assemblies, we recommend splitting by subsystem in your CAD tool — MechLab supports multiple workspaces that can be managed separately and combined for presentation.
Yes. Assessment nodes can be inserted into the step state machine with pass/fail conditions and point values. MechPlayer records each learner's step results and generates a final score report. Assessment data can be exported as CSV or integrated with enterprise LMS systems via API.
Both MechLab and MechPlayer support Chinese/English UI switching. Course content multilingual support is author-managed: each text annotation, step description and hotspot can have multiple language versions, and MechPlayer automatically displays the correct language based on the learner's selection.
Yes. MechLab has a built-in AI assistant with integrated LLM capabilities. It can auto-generate text annotations, hotspot cards and course content blocks, and help design step sequences. Supports OpenAI, local Ollama and domestic LLMs (Alibaba Cloud Bailian, Zhipu, etc.) — fully available in air-gapped environments. All write operations use a step-by-step confirmation flow and support one-click undo.
When configured with local Ollama or an on-premises LLM, the AI assistant works completely offline — model data never leaves the network. When using a cloud API such as OpenAI, only minimal context (node names, annotation text) is sent — the full GLB model file is never transmitted. API keys are encrypted using Electron secure storage and never written to disk in plaintext. Chat history is stored locally only.
